What Is a Personalized Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Teens?

A Personalized Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a flexible, structured treatment option for teens who need more support than weekly therapy — but don’t require inpatient care.

At Blink, “personalized” means every teen receives care that’s tailored to their unique needs, goals, and challenges. Our IOP includes a combination of individual therapy, family sessions, mindfulness & breath therapy, eco therapy, art therapy, fibre therapy and group therapy when possible — all customized to help each teen feel understood, supported, and empowered in their healing.

Teens attend multiple sessions each week while continuing to live at home and participate in daily life — giving them the structure they need, with the freedom they value.

Support That Meets Teens Where They Are

Adolescence is hard — and for some teens, it can feel overwhelming. When traditional therapy isn’t enough but full-time treatment feels like too much, Blink’s Teen IOP offers the right level of care at the right time.

We meet teens with compassion, structure, and real tools for healing — while keeping them connected to what matters most.

Mindfulness therapy

We blend evidence-based approaches with creative, body-centered, and nature-based practices that help teens reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways. This includes:

  • Individual therapy focused on emotional resilience and insight

  • Group therapy (when possible) that fosters connection, reflection, and peer support

  • Breath therapy and mindfulness to regulate the nervous system and build internal calm

  • Somatic experiencing to process emotions stored in the body

  • Art therapy as a safe space for expression beyond words

  • Eco therapy to restore connection with nature and self

  • Fibre therapy (like knitting or weaving) for grounding, focus, and self-soothing

  • Parent/caregiver sessions to strengthen understanding and support at home

Flexible Care, Built Around What Matters Most

We know that healing can't happen in isolation from school, family, or everyday demands. Our IOP is designed to meet teens where they are — emotionally and practically.

  • Program runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Teens attend a minimum of 2 days per week, with many attending 3–4 days based on need

  • Sessions are 2 to 4 hours per day, tailored to the teen’s capacity and goals

  • Scheduling is flexible, and we work with families to create a rhythm that feels doable and sustainable

  • Transition Planning and After Treatment Support

This structure allows teens to engage deeply in their healing without stepping away from life — because support should fit the person, not the other way around.

Family-Centered Healing

We believe that when a young person is struggling, the entire family system is affected — and when families feel supported, teens are more likely to thrive. That’s why we don’t just treat the individual — we walk alongside parents and caregivers, offering tools, insight, and space to heal together. Whether it's rebuilding trust, learning how to respond to big emotions, or simply feeling less alone in the process, we’re here for your whole family — not just your teen.

Family-Centered, Teen-Focused

We know that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Our program actively includes parents and caregivers through:

  • Weekly family therapy

  • Parent coaching and support groups

Because when families heal together, teens thrive.
